Romans 12:1 – In view of GOD’S mercy, present your bodies as living sacrifices holy and pure for that is your reasonable act of worship.”In view of GOD’S mercy” shows that our worship starts with GOD. We worship because GOD has allowed us to worship. We worship with confidence because we have seen God’s incredible mercy through the death and resurrection of his son Jesus. We have been forgiven. We have been made new. We have been covered with his love and have been shown unfathomable mercy. We don’t need to tie our foots with a rope as Old Testament priests did as they entered into the holy of holies. We have full access through Jesus. Worship always needs to be done in view of God’s mercy. It can’t be done through our own will and desire to do well. It always needs to be done in view of his incredible mercy. It starts with GOD.
Have you ever tried to worship through your own will and strength? Have you ever tried to fake it until you make it? I sure have. Worship is not worship if you are not doing it in view of GOD’S mercy. Remember worship starts, is through, and ends with God.
Think about His wonderful mercy as you go through the rest of your week.
