Colonel Day!
Today was probably one of the most eye opening days for our crew. We went to a squatter camp to help finish the front porch of a new home. Back ground on a squatter camp is where there was land and people just put up structures to be homes. These structures can be made out of pallets, card board, or anything else they can use for a structure. Big Heart Ministry has built 12 homes total in these areas and our group got to help finish out the 12th home by laying cement. During some of the labor our girls went down and did crafts with the children in the area.
This whole experience today helped showed some of the students how spoiled we as Americans can be. During 4:00 pm we had a really good church time discussing what God has shown them so far during the week.
I know many of you are looking to have pictures up. I have emailed our web page designer to see if he can load the pictures on the blog spot. Hopefully we will have some of them up soon.
Thank you for your prayers and the students are looking forward to what God has planned for them over the next two days.
