How The Worst Things Work for Good
Over the next few days we are going to walk through my gleanings from Thomas Watson (read previous posting on this blog for bio on Watson). I want to point out four “evils” upon which God works for good to those who love Him.
So, here is the first of the four: Affliction. God works the evil of affliction for the good to those that love Him. It is a huge consideration to ponder that in all the afflictions that befall us the reality that God has a special hand in them.

God does this to us because He loves us! There’s not a better way to learn than going through the “fire”. It sure doesn’t feel great at the time of the affliction on our lives, but you will be so glad you went through it from what you learn from it! God moved us from Sugar Land to San Antonio to Austin the past eight years, and we went through and learned so much from the many churches we’ve been to. God had to grow us each step that we took in that process, and thankfully we are still learning & growing in the Lord! If you’re going through an affliction right now, let me encourage you to keep your focus on God because He WILL get with you through it!!
Reminds me ot the scriptures (Like Is.43 and others) that remind us that “when” we go through afflictions (not “If”) that God will be there with us (not necessarily take us out of it). Good promises.
