We had a great start to the fall, an amazing first 10 months of the year, and an incredible time of ministry for the beginning of 2010. As hard as it is to believe, in one week it will be November. 2010 is winding down and will be gone before we know it.
I want to encourage our church family and friends/attenders to finish well. We have started well this year, let’s finish the year well!
Are you scheduled to serve somewhere on Sunday morning? Do it with a smile, a warm greeting for others, and your heart focused on God. Tell someone about Christ during the week (are you still praying and believing for those names that we wrote down on Labor Day?). Be with us on Sundays for corporate worship, Bible study, and to be sent out to live missionally. Finish Ladies’ Bible study over the next 3-4 weeks. Fellowship with other women at the Progressive Dinner in December. Grow your children and your friendship with other moms at our mother’s of preschoolers group on Tuesdays at Chick fil a.
Haven’t read about your place yet? Our students can minister to hurting children all over the world through Samaritan’s Purse on November 17. Soles for Souls takes place all through November when we give shoes to those who don’t have and we share the love of Christ with the needy. Join us for a wonderful night of worship and ministry at the Family Christmas Service on December 19. Be with your Life Groups whenever they meet (and I know they’re meeting regularly!).
There are hurting people that need your love. There are lonely people that need your friendship. There are new believers who need your encouragement. There are seekers and lost people who need to see Christ in you. Let’s finish strong.
Give faithfully and generously. There are hurting people we are trying to help and we do so much of that during the holidays and we do that through your regular, generous giving. More than Words is also coming and we’ll be giving even more to substantially bless Pastor Henry in Uganda and a family in our church.
God bless all of you for starting the year so strong, for being faithful friends and co-ministers of the Gospel. Let’s all finish 2010 strong!
