Our daughter’s leg was amputated when she was 11 years old due to a disease that had impacted her leg since she was 9 months old. God provided healing for our daughter in an unexpected way. It was not what we had prayed for, but clearly was His plan. He uses this in her life as an inspiration to others, to look to God for their provision. He healed her and us spiritually and emotionally. She is an example to others of God’s light and joy.
God answers prayer! He desires that you put your faith in Him, to lean on Him in your time of greatest need. Think about this as you are about to take that drink or drug to numb the pain you are in. He will come to you and comfort you, but you must take that first step to trust in Him. God has personally answered my prayers very specifically and swiftly, but only when I gave up everything to Him. “Take refuge in the shadow of His wings till the storms of destruction pass by.”
My father committed suicide. It is a wound that only God can heal, and even though I am not fully healed, God is the Provider of peace and He is faithful.
Our marriage fell apart at one time. We went our separate ways. But through the sovereignty of God, He restored our marriage back together. We both devoted our lives to Him. He blessed us with a third daughter.
After eight years of marriage and prayer for children, God answered our prayers through the adoption of our son. After nine more years of praying for a bigger family, God faithfully allowed us to adopt another son and a daughter. And then later that same year, we adopted another baby daughter. Our children ARE the memorial stones of our family.
In November 2006, my mother had a severe stroke. She was in a coma for 6 weeks. The doctors said if she survived, she would likely be a vegetable. Our family prayed for God’s grace and mercy upon her life. As she was coming out of the coma, we noticed her doing sign language with her right hand. We knew at that point that she at least had some brain function and fine motor skills. Today, though she is paralyzed on her left side and bed-ridden, she is still mentally sharp and able to share great memories with her children and grandchildren.
My last semester in college an older woman taught a Bible Study which opened my eyes about the way I was living and brought me closer to the Lord, back on track! Also, God has been faithful to hear all of our prayers regarding the births of our seven children. He has blessed us with seven amazing kids! Also, after the failure of my business, God provided a good job just in time!
He saved me from a life filled with unforgiveness, hurt, alcohol and drugs. I was searching for happiness only to find out He is love and hope is in Him!
So, so many — The most recent is His miraculous healing in my life after a long illness that the doctors couldn’t explain. I lost much muscle strength and was unable to walk. He has healed me. I am whole. He has blessed me in so many ways — Praise You Jesus!!
In a remote village in northern Tibet, a man approached me wearing hundreds of necklaces and talismans. Through my interpreter I asked what they were for. He said one was for each god and he wore them to protect him in case one of the god’s was angry. Through my interpreter, Christ allowed me to share with him that only one God is alive and created all things and lives today, providing His Son as our replacement for sin and we don’t have to fear His anger if we choose His Son. The man removed all of his necklaces and took the crucifix I offered him and put it on and smiled – he now needed only one God. Our pain, our money and our problems will all pass away, but Christ’s eternal kingdom will never diminish. If we are a part of this kingdon, we must rejoice indeed!
Does God care about the little things in our life? Do ALL things really work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose? In the words of the early church father, Erasmus – Yep.
St. Paul on the island of Malta (Where Malted milkballs come from) was bitten by a deadly snake. Instead of swelling up and dying a horribly painful death, he shook it off, healed a sick man and shared the gospel with everyone on the island. I’m not Paul and thankfully haven’t been bitten by a snake lately, but this bible account describes a small event in the life of one person (Paul) that had an eternal purpose.
About 2 weeks ago, satan entered our van and killed it. He gummed up the transmission. We towed it to a shop and asked for an estimate and the shop owner proceeded to install a new transmission and charge us $2100. I thought about selling my kids to raise the money, but then I remembered Joseph (I don’t want to have to bow down before my son) and gave up that idea. (plus I don’t think anyone besides Dede Murff would buy them and Bennet would hate me). I’m not a member of Congress so I don’t have a printing press and so was forced (thankfully) to go to the Lord and ask “what do I do?” He said, “Duh” (in effect) because I knew that we were to trust Him. He caused me to remember how silly it is to worry over a car repair when my Father created Pluto (which IS a planet). So I asked Him for a way out. Last night at 8:30 pm a Sugar Land Police officer bought the van and that together with some other money we had took care of the problem. More importantly, the shop owner told me about a foster baby he and his wife want to adopt who at birth was addicted to meth, cocaine and heroin and he asked me to pray for them and the baby AND he apologized for installing the transmission without asking first. I think we might even become friends.
The difference between Jesus Christ and anything else you worship (facebook, your job, your business, your girlfriend, band, your drug) is that Jesus Christ not only can and will walk you through your issues, but will show you how those issues relate to eternity.
I lost my mom 6 months ago to Cancer. For the first time in my life I felt totally alone. Being an only child my mother was my rock, my partner in crime, my best friend. I keep thinking back to just a year ago. What we were doing and where we were. Wow have things changed now. But then I realized a year ago i was just starting a friendship with this wonderful person, Liz. I know the Lord put her in my life to prepare me for when he was going to take Mom. He knew I was going to need Liz to get me through the rough parts and I am so thankful for that. Thank you God for my friend Liz!!!!!!!!!!!
Our daughter, Amber, was killed in an auto accident on June 30, 2009. I can’t begin to describe the pain that I experience on a daily basis. I have wanted to give up, but GOD hasn’t given up on me. Reading GOD’s word, prayer, and kind words from others has begun a healing inside me.

Taking care of our church when facing the sudden loss of our friend and pastor.

When I had hit a wall of depression and anxiety, my husband prayed and God brought healing to our marriage and my life as a whole.
